The Focus
As a provider of composite technology for the
Wind Energy, Transportation and Marine, Sport
and Civil Engineering markets, Gurit is at the
forefront of innovation in this rapidly expanding
industry. The increasing demand for composite
solutions has placed a strong emphasis on recruitment
for technical talent to support the technical
and commercial functions, where flexibility,
creativity, and resourcefulness are a prerequisite.
The Jobs
Gurit’s Technical Graduate program is
1 year in duration, with a structured training
course on the key theoretical areas of composite
materials, development and processing. In parallel
there is on-the-job-training to support the
existing technology groups at Gurit which can
involve travel and customer interfacing at an
early stage. The project-based focus of the
training expedites a broad exposure to composite
technology and allows a seamless transition
into a permanent technical role upon successful
completion of the training year.
As part of the Analytical & Materials Testing
Group, successful chemistry candidates will
be involved in the development of techniques
and methodology to support ongoing testing and
future requirements from development, production
and customers. They will also be given the opportunity
to contribute to projects focused on expanding
the fundamental understanding of chemical and
physical properties across the Gurit product
range. As a member of the analytical group candidates
will be exposed to a broad spectrum of composite
technologies from which a focussed and committed
individual has an excellent opportunity to develop
their career progression within the Gurit group.
Members of the Materials Formulation Group are
responsible for the development of epoxy-based
products which covers all aspects of composite
materials from adhesives to high performance
carbon pre-pregs. The role provides a certain
element of variety to incorporate interaction
with the analytical, mechanical and composite
engineering groups, thus providing successful
chemistry graduate with an excellent opportunity
to progress their career within this unique
field.
The People
We are looking for ambitious graduates with
a minimum 2:1 classification bachelor degree
in materials science or aerospace / mechanical
/ chemical engineering for the Engineering roles,
and materials science or chemistry for the Chemist
roles. Other degrees will be considered if there
is a significant course element of composite
or materials technology. The ideal candidates
will be self-starters with a desire to succeed.
Those that have a genuine interest in composite
technology will thrive in our environment amongst
a team of committed experts.
